About this race
The Hutt Half Marathon is a flat out-and-back course in Lower Hutt on the northern shore of Wellington Harbour. The route follows shared pathways, stopbanks and waterfront sections, starting near Hikoikoi Reserve at Petone. It takes in a section of the Hutt River stopbank before turning south-east along the harbour edge, using the upgraded Tepua Horo Nuku path towards Days Bay, where runners turn and retrace their steps to the finish. The surface is mostly paved, with a smaller share of unsealed track. The profile is flat, with only a brief rise onto the stopbank, and the course runs close to the water for much of the distance. The event is organised by Hutt Valley Harriers and also includes a 10k, a 5k and a Cool Kids Kilometre.
