About this race
The Christchurch Motorway Half Marathon starts and finishes at Canterbury Agricultural Park on Curletts Road in Hillmorton. It is an out-and-back course on the Christchurch Southern Motorway cycle and walking paths, with no vehicles on the course. From the park, the route heads south-west alongside the motorway, passing Aidanfield and continuing west towards Marshs Road before turning and retracing the same path back to the park. A single stop/go control operates where the course crosses Marshs Road on the way out and back. The route is mostly paved with a small proportion of dirt path, and the profile is flat, rising very gently towards the turnaround and falling back to the finish. The half marathon has 1 km markers and drink stations along the course. Race headquarters is at the start and finish area.
