About this race
The Manawatu Striders Half Marathon starts and finishes at the Massey University Recreation Centre in Palmerston North, with access from Albany Drive. The route follows the marathon course out along Dairy Farm Road to Linton and back to the He Ara Kotahi pedestrian bridge over the Manawatu River. Runners then take a short out-and-back section downstream before heading back upstream, passing under the He Ara Kotahi bridge. The course crosses the Fitzherbert Bridge and finishes back at Massey. Around half the distance is on gravel and unsealed track, with the rest on sealed roads and paths, and the profile is flat with a few short rises and falls. The half marathon run starts at 9:30am, with walkers setting off at 9:00am, and it shares the morning with the marathon, 10k and 5k events.
