About this race
The Manawatu Striders 5k Fun Run & Walk starts and finishes at the Massey University Recreation Centre in Palmerston North, with access from Albany Drive. It is an out-and-back course that heads down Dairy Farm Road towards the He Ara Kotahi pathway, turns at a turnaround point and returns the same way to the finish at Massey. The course is almost entirely sealed road, descending gently from the start towards the river flats, then flat through the middle before a steady climb back up to the finish. Walkers are welcome to take part. The 5k starts at 10:15am on the same morning as the marathon, half marathon and 10k, and the day also includes a kids' Marafun over 2.5km or 700m, which is free for under-12s.
