About this race
The Selwyn Stampede 5k, officially 5.25km, is a single lap of a flat, fast loop through the Arbor Green development in Rolleston, Canterbury. The lap starts and finishes on Goulds Road, runs via Arbor Green Boulevard, then makes an out-and-back along Westmoor Boulevard before returning along Dunns Crossing Road to Goulds Road. The course is mostly on wide, sealed pathways and roads, with a single aid station, and has virtually no elevation. The same circuit is repeated twice for the 10.5km and four times for the half marathon. The 5.25km is a run or walk, with a one-hour maximum time, and it starts at 8:00am alongside the half marathon and 10.5km. A family challenge is also held on the same 5.25km loop, and a 1km kids dash for under-13s follows at 9:30am. The festival is organised by Selwyn Sports Trust.
