Corporate Challenge Christchurch 5k

The Corporate Challenge Christchurch 5k is run entirely within North Hagley Park, starting and finishing at the park's Entertainment Triangle. The course follows a flat figure-of-eight route around the park, giving participants a scenic loop across open parkland without any significant climbing. As a workplace team event, waves of runners, joggers and walkers from different companies set off together each Wednesday evening in early November and cover the same course, making use of the park's paths and open grass areas. Because Hagley Park sits right beside the Christchurch CBD, the setting feels green and spacious despite its central, easily reached location. Many teams treat the evening as much as a social occasion as a race, pitching tents and setting up barbecues around the park before and after their run. The event forms part of a wider Corporate Challenge series held in several New Zealand cities each year.
