Runaway Auckland 11km Traverse

The One New Zealand 11km Traverse starts at Smales Farm on Auckland's North Shore and finishes at Victoria Park near the CBD. From Smales Farm the route joins the Northern Busway before crossing the Auckland Harbour Bridge, giving runners sweeping views over the Waitematā Harbour and Rangitoto Island as they head towards the city. After descending from the bridge, the course continues through the city fringe past Westhaven Marina and the Viaduct Harbour before finishing at Victoria Park, sharing its closing stretch with the marathon and half marathon courses. The terrain is entirely sealed road and motorway-adjacent path, with the harbour bridge crossing providing the main climb of the route before it flattens out through the final kilometres into the finish. The event is only open to runners on race day, since the busway and motorway sections used are otherwise closed to pedestrians.
